The finale of Showtime’s hugely talked about new drama “Homeland,” a favorite of critics and even President Obama, attracted the biggest audience for the series so far and the biggest for any first-year show in Showtime’s history.

The network announced Monday that Sunday night’s first play of the finale had reached 1.1 million viewers, with just over two million watching when Sunday night replays were included. The finale was up 58 percent over its premiere episode.

The audience figure is likely to more than double when Showtime takes into account all the other ways it will make the finale available this week, either through repeats on the network, on-demand plays or streamed versions online. The series has averaged 4.2 million viewers.

So, Homeland is probably the most brilliant new show of the season, and it’s disappointing that his show isn’t getting enough Tumblr love. This is a new Tumblr fanpage for this flawless show, so if you’re a fan of the show please follow! I’ll try to update with posts, reblogs and whatnot as much as possible. :D
